Helps with long car rides – I purchased this to help with discomfort during a 12-14 hour road trip I took. It helped significantly with the pain I was experiencing in my buttock and lower back during long car trips. The downsides are that it serves almost like a booster seat so it will not work if you’re very tall like my husband unless you lower the bottom of your car seat extensively. We have a Honda Pilot and it did not work for him. The other thing I didn’t particularly like was the feel of the fabric. After a while it is irritating on bare skin (I was wearing shorts and it felt rough on the back of my legs). I suppose you could cover it with something softer or wear long pants. Otherwise did keep me quite comfortable on this very long trip! Would recommend

Great for tailbone, but not for bare legs – This is AMAZING for tailbone relief, especially if you drive a lot. It’s not that comfortable if you’re wearing shorts or a short skirt/dress, though. This is due to a textured surface which I assume is to prevent you from slipping down, and it’s not enough of a problem for me not to use it. My tailbone, hips and spine love it. I have autoimmune arthritis and spondylitis and this is a lifesaver.

It’s still just a little too hard and unforgiving for me… – This is the 3rd time I’ve tried out a cushion like this – not the same brands. But they are all too stiff for my comfort level. I have a degenerative spine and arthritis in the hips. Firm is not what I desire. I need soft and cushy – not soft to the point of feather pillows but soft to the point of the same memory foam comfort I get from my memory foam mattress on my bed.

However, for a bench seat in a truck it felt a bit unstable going around corners. Bucket seats in a car cradle your butt and hold it tight on corners but this cushion is tall and I felt like I was going to roll off the cushion on corners. I suggest they make the cushion 3 or 4″ wider and add stiffer taller foam to both sides to help hold you in as you drive corners. It was comfortable, but for my application (flat bench seat) it was not suitable. I sent it back and bought a thinner one.
